Caterhams have grown into one of the leading suppliers of marble and granite fireplaces to independent showrooms throughout the Midlands, North of England, Scotland and Wales. To cope with this growth they have doubled their factory space from 16,000 to over 30,000sq. feet since 1995.

This growth has been aided by a policy of re-investing profits in plant and machinery, so now we have some of the most modern and cost effective equipment. The benefits of this policy can be seen by the fact we now have five Intermac CNC workstations, which cut and shape marble and granite to a pre-determined configuration. The original design having been placed in the computer by a skilled operator.
This means the computer can hold in itıs memory for example, all the shapes of hearth we currently manufacture and we only have to adjust the measurements to suit individual orders. This has given us greater control and better finish with greater output than is possible with manual operation. Fireplaces then proceed on the production line and to experienced finisherıs who inspect and finish by hand.

Caterhams are a specialist versatile manufacturer of fireplaces and fireplace interiors in marble and granite.
Throughout this catalogue you will see many fireplaces and interiors showing different features, whether it is use of slips, shaped hearths or different edge finishes. All these fireplaces sell well in their own right but 50% of our manufacturing output is either variations of these designs or to customers own specification.
